Melbourne

The Fire Protection Services Designer role is based out of our Melbourne office where you will experience the enjoyment of working with a close-knit team on a number of challenging projects across multiple sectors.

Reporting to the Discipline Lead, as a Fire Protection Services Designer you will be expected to provide assistance to engineers/consultants and develop expertise in all facets of consulting engineering work.

Some duties and responsibilities include:

  • Applying the National Construction Code (NCC) and other associated documentation / reference material for your discipline relative to your position
  • Carrying out conceptual and detail design and analysis to enable preparation of documentation in respect of assigned areas of work in Fire Protection Services design as required by your level
  • Carrying out detail design and analysis to enable preparation of documentation on-screen in AutoCAD and REVIT in respect of assigned areas of work in fire protection services design
  • Coordinating Fire Protection Services designs with other engineering services and other project team members
  • Review shop drawings, commissioning tests and defects inspections as required for your discipline
  • Preparing Fire Protection Services design tender documentation
  • Understanding of Fire Protection Services, NCC, Australian and International Standards
  • Initiate and maintain contacts within the building and related industries in order to assist the company in obtaining its work
  • Conduct project work assigned within time and cost budgets to achieve profitable projects

What you’ll need

  • Proactive attitude, and willingness to take on challenges
  • 3+ years of demonstrated consulting experience in Fire Protection Services Design/Engineering
  • REVIT operator experience
  • Great communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Familiarity with the National Construction Code
  • Registered Professional Engineer (or working towards), or alternatively QBCC licenced designer
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships
  • Proven ability to multi-task, project manage and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities
  • High attention to detail

Melbourne

The Fire Consultant role is based out of our Melbourne office where you will experience the enjoyment of working with a close-knit team on a number of challenging projects across multiple sectors such as commercial, retail, residential, industrial and aged care.

Reporting to the Discipline Lead, as a Fire Consultant you will be expected to provide assistance to engineers / consultants and develop expertise in all facets of consulting engineering work.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop Fire Safety Strategies in support of Fire Engineered Performance Solutions
  • Prepare Fire Engineering Briefs and Reports
  • Attendance at client meetings and site reviews
  • Initiate and maintain contacts within the building and related industries in order to assist the company in obtaining its work
  • Conduct project work assigned within time and cost budgets to achieve profitable projects

What you’ll need

  • Tertiary qualification, preferably in Fire Safety Engineering
  • 2-3 years demonstrated consulting experience in Fire Safety Engineering
  • Familiarity with the International Fire Engineering Guidelines, National Construction Code (NCC) and other associated documentation / reference material for your discipline relative to your position
  • Ability to complete Fire Engineering Briefs and basic Fire Engineering reports with minimal assistance
  • Ability to use modelling tools (ie: FDS, Firewind) with minimal assistance
  • Great communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proactive attitude, and willing to take on challenges
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships
  • Proven ability to multi-task, project manage and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities
  • High attention to detail

Sydney

The Team Leader – Fire Engineering role is based out of our Sydney practice where you will experience the enjoyment of working with a close-knit team on a number of challenging projects across multiple sectors.

Reporting to the State Manager, as the Team Leader you will be expected to lead, coach, direct, and motivate your team in carrying out various projects and ensure control and quality of deliverables.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop fire safety strategies in support of Fire Engineered Performance Solutions
  • Prepare Fire Engineering Briefs and Reports, as well as attend associated meetings and site reviews
  • Work under the supervision and guidance of experienced Fire Engineers and are also expected to assist in the training and mentoring of junior Engineering Consultants
  • Manage your own projects and clients to ensure design milestones are achieved and customer relationships are maintained
  • Grow the practice by building on the existing client base as well as building new connections
  • Manage team workload and keep projects aligned with the company’s goals
  • Oversee and maintain teams’ forecasts
  • Lead and develop team members toward success
  • Achieve individual Goals and Objectives

What you’ll need

  • Tertiary qualification, preferably in Fire Safety Engineering
  • 6+ years of demonstrated consulting experience in Fire Safety Engineering
  • Great communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Familiarity with the International Fire Engineering Guidelines, and the National Construction Code
  • Registered Fire Safety Engineer (or working towards)
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities that create an environment that supports innovation and appositive team culture
  • Proven ability to multi-task, project manage and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities
